SPELD NSW Board Member

Ingrid King joined the SPELD NSW Board in 2019. Ingrid is a barrister at the NSW Bar and advises in relation to corporate governance, risk and regulatory law. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1994 and as a barrister in 2012 and has worked in Singapore and Hong Kong as well as Sydney. She also advises in relation to obligations in relation to charitable fundraising and political donations.

Ingrid also teaches Securities Regulation at UTS Sydney and has an active interest in educational methods. Ingrid has a family member with complex learning difficulties and has observed the frustrations of a person with learning difficulties within an education system that is not always responsive to their needs. She also appreciates the learning curve for parents of children with learning difficulties, and the need for support in learning to advocate for your child.

Ingrid holds an LLM (Hons) (Casework) UTS, and a BA/LLB from ANU. She also regularly provides pro bono advice, both to not-for-profit organisations and in migration litigation.
