Consulting and Coaching for SPELD NSW Members
The SPELD NSW Professional Learning team provides a coaching and consulting service to SPELD NSW school members. We work with school leadership to enhance best practice in literacy instruction and develop effective response to intervention models. Our consulting service is designed to empower leaders and provide tailored support based on your school context. Topics we consult on include:
- Selecting effective assessments for reading and spelling
- Analysing student data
- Action planning for classroom instruction based on student data
- Using data to plan for targeted intervention
- Developing phonics, morphology and spelling scopes and sequences
- Explicit instruction models
- And much more…
We provide quality 1-1 or small groups coaching for teachers in the following areas:
- Explicit phonics instruction
- Explicit spelling instruction (orthographic conventions and long vowel patterns)
- Explicit morphology instruction
- Intervention support for reading and spelling
In addition to our consulting and coaching services, we invite leaders to participate in our leadership projects that support Assistant Principals Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Leaders, Assistant Principals, Deputy Principals and other leaders in implementing scope and sequences, assessments and explicit instruction in their schools.
