Teacher Certificate Course - Literacy InterventionAPPLICATIONS OPEN FOR TERM 1, 2025The SPELD NSW Teacher Certificate Course is a highly regarded Professional Learning program aimed at developing teacher understanding of Specific Learning Difficulties and effective, evidence-based instruction in literacy and literacy intervention. The course is focused on language and literacy development, with individual modules on Learning, Oral Language, Phonemic Awareness and Phonology, Explicit Phonic Intervention, Fluency, Vocabulary & Comprehension, Spelling, Handwriting & Morphology, and Adjustments and Intervention Planning.
The Teacher Certificate Course runs twice a year, in Terms 1 & 2 and then again in Terms 3 & 4. The Teacher Certificate Course available entirely online with a combination of online activities and live webinars.
Applications open for Term 1 2025.
The cost of the Teacher Certificate Course is $2,250 (inc GST). The course cost includes Individual SPELD NSW membership worth $80. More details on the course, application process and payment arrangements are included in the Information Pack.

Teacher Certificate Course Modules
The Teacher Certificate Course is run in a blended model, using our online learning management system to deliver video lessons, readings, quizzes and practical application and reflection tasks. There is a high level of engagement with course facilitators through online discussions, feedback on tasks and through the three check-in webinars that provide opportunities for Q&A and discussions.
