Sound Waves Foundation Sets

The Sound Waves Decodable Readers are engaging books for students of different reading abilities to practice their decoding skills.  These books include words with CCVC and CVCC words and have a higher word count than the Core Set for students who are ready for more challenging decodable texts.

Dandelion Decodable Reader Collections

Dandelion has updated their book covers. The following Dandelion Readers are on sale to make way for the new books. Book content hasn’t changed, so take advantage of these discounts while stocks last!

Dandelion Launchers, Early Readers and Workbooks

The Dandelion Launchers are aimed at younger readers or readers who need lots of practise.  These books only have one or two lines of text per page and are easier to read than the Dandelion Readers.  Each set has multiple different books per unit to give students lots of opportunities for practise.

Aimed at children aged 4-7, each book introduces only a few letter/sounds at a time allowing independent reading from the outset.  Each unit introduces new letter/sounds while revising previously taught letters/sounds and high frequency words.

Dandelion Initial Code Readers and Workbooks

These books are for beginner readers and are aimed at children aged 4-7. They gradually introduce the sounds of the alphabet, adjacent consonants and consonant digraphs.  In each Set, there is one book per Unit and each book has up to three or four lines of text per page.  Parallel sets are available to allow students to gain additional practise of the letter-sound relationships introduced in each Unit.

Dandelion Extended Code Readers and Workbooks

These decodable readers follow on from the Dandelion Readers and are ideal for students in Year 1 and 2. The Dandelion Extended Code Readers and the Split Vowel Series introduce more complex parts of the English phonic code, especially the vowel digraphs and trigraphs.  Vowels are explored with the concept that one sound can have alternate spellings and sounds introduced in the Dandelion Readers Initial Code Series continue to be reinforced.
