Catch Up Decodable Readers Classroom Packs

SPELD NSW has put together a range of classroom packs of decodable readers made up from the high quality decodable readers that we stock. These packs are a great resource for classrooms and learning support teams.

Each pack contains multiple copies of each book in the series. These readers can be used in reading groups, intervention programs or as take-home readers. The Catch-up Readers Moon Dog Pack, the Fantasy Pack, three different Adventure Packs, and the Word Attack Pack are great resources for students in years 2 to 8 who are working to develop their phonics and blending skills.

When selecting your pack, you can choose a pack with one, three or six copies of each set of readers. You can also choose whether or not your pack includes the workbooks. SPELD NSW Members receive discounts at the online store.

Catch-up Readers Moon Dog Pack

The Moon Dog Series follows the adventures of a group of friends in a band. The Pack starts at the beginning of the phonics scope and sequence and is ideal for older students who need to learn the individual letter sounds and develop blending skills.

The Fantasy Pack includes the Dandelion Catch-Up Series with a fantasy theme. This Pack is ideal for older students who have learnt the individual letter sounds and need to develop their blending skills with longer words and learn the alternate spellings for the vowels.

This Adventure Pack includes selected titles from the Dandelion Catch-Up Series with an adventure theme from both the Basic Code and Extended Code. The Vowel Spellings Adventure Pack includes only titles that contain the Extended Code from the Dandelion Catch-Up Series with an adventure theme.

This Pack is ideal for older students who need to develop their knowledge of the multiple ways to spell vowels in English and develop their word reading skills and fluency skills with extended code texts.

Catch Up Readers Word Attack Pack

The Word Attack Pack includes titles with lots of different spelling choices for the extended phonics code, unusual vowel and consonant spellings, and morphologically complex spellings. This Pack has been created to allow students to develop their word attack skills and reading fluency with more complex texts.

The books in this Word Attack Pack are a great transition from decodable readers to uncontrolled texts for students who have had reading difficulties and who are in upper primary and high school.
