“Language is something that is uniquely human; we depend on it for our survival, yet it is something we very much for granted. It isn’t until you work with a child who struggles with language and literacy that you understand how fundamental it is for full participation in modern society.
Every child has the right to learn to read and write well. My role is to empower our amazing teachers and school communities to know how to best help every child achieve their potential.”
Veronica brings her experience of engaging teachers in Professional Learning that develops critical thinking, supports deep content knowledge, metalanguage and consideration of diverse learning needs.
At SPELD NSW she implements a range of professional learning aimed at developing teachers’ abilities to target Specific Learning Difficulties and growing teacher professional knowledge.
