Nadine joined SPELD NSW as a volunteer in 2018 and as the organisation experienced exceptional growth she was given the opportunity to become a dedicated member of the team and expand her responsibilities to event coordination.
With a wonderful selection of new professional and parent workshops on the calendar, Nadine plays a key role organising the event logistics for NESA accredited professional learning and evidence based training. She liaises with parents, teachers, speech pathologists, tutors and allied health professionals who book professional development throughout the year.
Nadine loves working at SPELD NSW because she is passionate about helping people with learning difficulties.
“With two beautiful children who have learning difficulties, I have first-hand knowledge of the difficulties children can face on a daily basis at school and at home.
As a parent it’s overwhelming when your child first gets diagnosed with dyslexia and the range of other comorbidities that often accompany it. It is so rewarding to work for an organisation that has the ability to help parents and teachers alike and in so doing to make a real difference for people affected by learning difficulties”
Nadine is currently studying towards a Master of Public Health at the University of Sydney. In her previous life she completed degrees in Nursing and Pharmacy and worked in a range of hospitals, pharmacies and a pharmaceutical company.
