Supporting children and adults with specific learning difficulties

SPELD NSW is seeking a registered psychologist who is keen to further develop their skills in providing psycho-educational assessments for children and adults as part of our assessments team. This position is 4 days per week.
Anne Davis, Principal, Sophie Roberts, Deputy Principal Instructional Leader and Julie Mavlian, Learning & Support Teacher from Riverwood Public School share their involvement with SPELD NSW.
Our friendly and experienced Information and Referral Officers are available to listen to your concerns and provide you with information, support and resources.
SPELD NSW welcomes the announcement that the Phonics Screening Check will be compulsory in NSW public schools from next year.

With 60 hours of NESA accredited professional learning, The SPELD NSW Teachers’ Certificate Course is suitable for Learning Support teachers, Primary School Classroom teachers, High School literacy and support teachers, new graduates and specialist tutors. 
We are very interested in hearing about the experiences of parents, caregivers and teachers of children with learning difficulties, as well as students who have learning difficulties, to help us respond to the Disability Standard for Education Review.

Five from Five, AUSPELD and Learning Difficulties Australia have released the Primary Reading Pledge. This important initiative aims “to reduce to near zero the number of children who finish primary school unable to read”.
