Online Assessment

Our online assessment for learning difficulties support was developed in consultation with a speech pathologist, behavioural optometrist, an expert in gross motor and an allergist working with LD children.

The SPELD NSW self-assessment tool is divided into several parts.
Part A, which takes less than 5 minutes to complete and is FREE to all, was designed to give you an idea as to whether you or your child might have a Specific Learning Difficulty. You will be given an immediate response to your completed questionnaire.

The remaining screening process (Parts B, C & D) contains questions about things that might be making learning some skills difficult for you or your child. We recommend that you allow yourself 15 to 30 minutes to get through it all. For a limited time only, completing this detailed diagnostic tool will also be FREE to current SPELD Members.

Once submitted, it will take between 1-3 working days for SPELD NSW to assess responses and provide you will some preliminary advice. The questionnaire analysis will provide suggestions about possible conditions that may hinder learning.

Fixing these conditions will not teach a person to read or spell, of course. Most people still require some specialist teaching to learn essential skills and understandings for reading and spelling. SPELD will advise you about these educational matters and other things that may be helpful. We will contact you first by email, and later we may suggest a personal consultation.
