What is the SPELD NSW Online Course for Teachers?
Overview
The Teachers Skills Package (TSP) is an innovative online professional development resource aimed at classroom teachers of primary students across Australia and beyond. The TSP is recognised as equivalent to 4hrs face-to-face professional development. On successful completion of the online course, participants will be emailed an electronic certificate of achievement.
Aims of the TSP
-
To assist primary teachers in recognising students who may have SLD and how to implement accommodations and age appropriate instructional adjustments to suit each child's identified educational and learning needs.
-
To provide knowledge of school and other referal options so SLD students receive appropriate specialist support to help ensure these students are given full opportunity to reach their learning potential.
-
To promote good practice within classrooms in keeping with syllabus outcomes, offering teaching ideas and strategies that will enhance the learning of students who have different learning needs.
-
To raise awareness of SPELD NSW.
Course Structure
The TSP content is organised into topics, chapters and then pages. Each topic ends with a test to help ensure acquisition of topic knowledge. Each test must be passed before continuing to the next topic. Upon completion of the course you will be entitled to receive a completion certificate.
