SPELD NSW submission to Productivity Commission Report on National Disability Insurance SchemePublished: 18/08/2011 The SPELD NSW submission to the Productivity Commission on its draft report into disability care and support. The report is proposing, amongst other things, the establishment of an insurance scheme funded through the tax system for the care and support of significantly or severely disabled people.The inclusion of people with learning ‘disabilities’ appears to have passed under the radar and we appear to be one of a few organisations that have addressed learning disabilities and the need for a clear definition and criteria for determining what is "significantly or severely learning disabled".
